Adult Lessons

Les and Kali, founders of PonyPros, offer special theory lessons for adults through their programs EQxpressionists and Equuality. During lessons, Kali and Les provide in depth horsenality evaluations. and suggestions for exercises to do to bring the horse to his greatest mental, emotional, and physical balance. Lessons with Les focus on lifestyle artisanship and transfer of experience from horses life. Kali's lessons focus on EQxpressionism - horsemanship as an authentic artistic practice.

"I'm very impressed with your interpretation of horse body language and expression, as well as your ability to teach. Your videos on horse facial expressions are just brilliant." - Nancy Lee

Adult students learn about horse psychology and communication, equine body mechanics, and footfall patterns. Students receive instruction in how to break skills down step by step for training, and instruction in how to build skills progressively. Things that used to take days, like teaching your horse to back over a pole or sidepass an obstacle, can be accomplished in minutes. Lessons will greatly improve your timing and feel, and help you accomplish your goals without sacrificing your principles. We hope our lessons will bring you laughter and positivity instead of frustration.

"Kali, I can't tell you how excited I am by you and Les! For years I have felt so alone and ostracized by the horse community for my 'crazy' ideas. Thank you!!!" - Eve Alexander

An example of what can be accomplished in one hour-

A fly-in lesson in Colorado with Christian and her Thoroughbred ex-racehorse, B, and Ann, on her Quarter horse Blue. Both horses were started under saddle by their owners. The riders were looking to increase their horse's self carriage and elevation of steps to prepare them for a more balanced ride in hunters this summer. B started out distracted with quick, uneven steps, but eventually found calmness and strength (see left). This was Blue's first experience with lifting and reaching through the shoulder, so at first he became inverted, but gradually found a light, comfortable frame (see right). Lesson date May 31st, 2008. B has not yet hit the show ring but continues to ride well. Blue placed in all his classes at their first show since the lesson.
