Fall 2011: Caron is starting cart training and doing amazing! So far, while ground driving her, we have rolled a huge ball behind her, carried a 6ft flag behind her, drug a tarp behind her, and drug poles behind her. We've had the harness and crupper on her (a 10 year old with no carting experience put it on her for the first time and longed her in it herself). We have had her in the cart unhitched with people supporting it while she walked. She was awesome about everything. Caron is very light and easy in the lines. So much so, that we've had kids ground driving her and both pony and students are enjoying it. Don't let her good ground manners mislead you - she has get up and go. Caron has a great trot with action and suspension when you ask for it like her sire, Priestwood Domingo, so she should be a stellar pony to ride, drive, and breed.
Summer 2011: Caron is a riding walk/trot/canter, cantering crossrails, and small solid jumps. She rides well in a group or alone. Caron is very kind and gentle on the ground. She is easy for little kids to catch, groom, and lead. Caron is extremely fancy with her unique silver roaning. She has a feminine head and would do well on the A-circuit, though, being only 4, she is still very green. She also enjoys trail riding and trail obstacles, and is trained to sit down on a bean bag, bow, park out, and is learning goat on a mountain pose. Caron would make a lovely short stirrup pony or small pony hunter. She could also be a cute Western pony. She is a nice size for riders up to the age of 11 but easily carries an adult for a tune up.
*Just had her teeth floated Aug 21!
From October 2010 to June 2011, Caron was owned by a family with boys ages 2 and 5. Due to changing circumstances, the family sent Caron back to PonyPros this June to be offered for sale. Caron is being ridden 2-4 days a week by a 15 year old catch rider and doing very well. She is quiet enough for advanced beginners but is forward moving and needs to be ridden consistently by a knowledgeable rider in order to stay tuned up.
Summer 2010: We evaluated Caron during our field trip to Evans Welsh June 2010. Caron partnered with 10 year old Maddie and 13 year old Morgan. The kids were up sitting on Caron in no time. She learned how to play all 7 games, did Friendly game with tarps and balls, played in the water for almost an hour, and learned to carry a saddle with no trouble at all. Caron is a delight. She is calm, sweet, and endearing. Caron will be family pony extraordinaire. She will be great to lead tiny kids around on and is large enough the kids can ride her through 5th grade.
Caron has phenomenal breeding. Both her sire and dam are imported from the United Kingdom. Caron would be an outstanding mare to breed in addition to being a children's riding pony.
Caron's half brother, Peanut, is an amazing kid's pony. He is a beautiful jumper and his 10 year old little girl canters him bareback everywhere. Maddie bought Peanut when he was 3 years old and started him under saddle with PonyPros. 10 months later, they can now jump the barrels bareback and halt from a canter bridleless.
